Xarray-simlab: Build, Customize and Run Computational Models Interactively

Xarray-simlab is an open-source Python package that provides both a generic framework for building computational models from pluggable components and a xarray extension to easily setup and run simulations using the xarray.Dataset structure. Addressing issues often encountered in « monolithic » model implementations, this framework fully automates model interface, workflow dependencies and potentially other technical aspects that scientists shouldn’t worry too much about. Through both basic and real-world examples, we will show how xarray-simlab can be used to customize and/or explore models interactively in a « pythonic » environment.
