Pangeo is a community driven effort for big-data in the Earth System Sciences. Key parts of the Pangeo effort is the development of tools and approaches for scaling computations on HPC and Cloud computing systems (using Python packages such as dask and xarray) and scaling user access through intuitive scientific gateways (e.g. JupyterHub deployments). This BOF will include a mix of short, informal presentations from members of the audience that are using elements of Pangeo (e.g. dask, xarray, Jupyter) for the analysis of earth science data and open discussion among attendees.
