Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution/Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Noelle Held is a PhD Candidate at the MIT-WHOI Joint Program in Oceanography/Applied Ocean Science and Engineering. Noelle is a chemical oceanographer interested in understanding how marine microbes impact, and are impacted by, the chemistry of the ocean. With other members of the Saito lab for Marine Bioinorganic Chemistry (, she develops metaproteomics methods to probe microbial function. She uses scientific Python tools to visualize and understand these large datasets, and enjoys working at the interface of software development and ocean science.
