Title:
Managing Thirty Years of Continuous Coastal Data Collection the Pythonic Way

Description:
The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) has continuously monitored estuarine salinity and water quality since 1986. Managing 30 years of continuous data collected by multiple personnel using instruments of different manufacturers and technologies creates daunting challenges in quality assurance, analysis, and distribution to the public. In addition to the data repository (waterdatafortexas.org) having been built using SQLAlchemy, Flask, NumPy, and Pandas, the TWDB maintains scientific python 3 packages for accessing, translating, and processing proprietary binary data collected from scientific data loggers. Binary coastal environmental data is decoded, transmitted, Quality Controlled, stored, analyzed, and served the Pythonic Way.
