The Application of Modern Optimization Packages to Multisensor Meteorological Data AssimilationDescription:
The application of new optimization packages such as SciPy’s optimization package, and mystic to retrieve quantities such as rainfall rates and 3D winds from radars is shown. In particular, scipy.optimize can be used to integrate data from multiple weather radars to retrieve wind fields, providing a framework for the assimilation of a multitude of datasets that could potentially use packages such as dask and Petsc4py.
